Regular Season Round 37: Obras - San Lorenzo 78-50
Date: April 10, 2022
There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Obras (15-21) rolled over 11th ranked San Lorenzo (15-18) in Buenos Aires 78-50 on Sunday. Obras held San Lorenzo to an opponent 23.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded San Lorenzo 47-33 including 36 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994, agency: Duran International) nailed 17 points and 8 assists for the winning side and Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Leandro Cerminato (201-1998) came up with 5 points and 7 rebounds and center Laureano Zalio (207-1995, agency: BIG) added 3 points and 8 rebounds respectively for San Lorenzo in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Platense. Defending champion San Lorenzo keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Obras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Lorenzo will play against Boca (#8) in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
