No shocking result in a game when first ranked Astros (8-3) smashed on the road 4th placed Rayos de Hermosillo (6-4) 92-73 on Tuesday. Astros outrebounded Rayos de Hermosillo 50-37 including 39 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 assists for the winners and international forward Irwin Avalos (202-1991, college: DBU) chipped in 16 points. Turkish center Alihan Demir (206-1996, college: Minnesota) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Astros went down to second position due to points difference. Defending champion Rayos de Hermosillo dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Obregon. Astros will meet bottom-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Venados (#5) in Mazatlan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
