Regular Season Round 24: Ancud - Tinguiririca 104-69
Date: April 22, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Tinguiririca (5-15) was outscored on the road by eighth ranked Ancud (11-11) 104-69. Ancud dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Tinguiririca's 32. Ancud had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Tinguiririca's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds and international Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) who added 13 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Ancud players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-1986) with 20 points and DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-1990, college: ACU) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Ancud went down to ninth position due to points difference. Newly promoted Tinguiririca keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
