Regular Season Round 24: Temuco - Puente Alto 80-110
Date: April 22, 2022
Very expected game when 13th ranked Temuco (2-19) was smashed at home by fourth ranked Puente Alto (14-8) 110-80. Puente Alto outrebounded Temuco 48-19 including a 15-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Temuco's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and the former international Antonio Pinedo (195-1994) who added 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Rodrigo Munoz (186-1980) with 16 points and 7 assists and Felipe Acuna (182-1992) scored 19 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puente Alto maintains fourth position with 14-8 record. Temuco lost tenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Puente Alto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Temuco will play at home against Los Leones (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
