Regular Season Round 2: Panteras - Abejas 77-71

Rather expected game when Abejas lost to Panteras in Aguascalientes 71-77 on Tuesday. Panteras shot 28 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Abejas only scored eleven points from the stripe. Latvian guard Ilze Jakobsone (168-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and American forward Akilah Bethel (183-1993, college: LSU) supported her with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Panteras' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by American center Rodjanae Wade (188-1998, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for Abejas. Point guard Dana Soto (167-1997) added 25 points and 4 steals for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Panteras will meet at home Libertadores in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Abejas will play against Astros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
