Regular Season Round 26: Catolica - Castro 75-82

Very expected game in Santiago where 10th ranked Universidad Catolica (7-14) was defeated by fifth ranked Castro (14-9) 82-75 on Thursday. Argentinian-American guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Owens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Castro's coach Carlos Romano used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and forward Vicente Damianovic (-1997) scored 14 points. Castro have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Castro went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Universidad Catolica keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Castro will meet higher ranked Puente Alto (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Universidad Catolica will play against Deportivo Valdivia (#5) and hope to secure a win.
