An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Los Mochis. Second ranked Pioneros Los Mochis faced one of their biggest challengers Rayos de Hermosillo. Host Pioneros Los Mochis (10-6) defeated guests from Hermosillo (10-6) 98-91. Pioneros Los Mochis dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Rayos de Hermosillo's 48. Pioneros Los Mochis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. American Anthony Johnson (203-1988, college: Fairfield) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jordan Brangers (188-1995, college: South Plains) added 25 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pioneros Los Mochis maintains second position with 10-6 record having just three points less than leader Astros, which they share with Hermosillo. Pioneros Los Mochis is looking forward to face Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (#4) at home in the next round. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Caballeros de Culiacan and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
