This time Ostioneros de Guaymas used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Mazatlan 78-69 on Tuesday night. Nigerian-American center Jawachi Nzeakor (206-1997, college: Lamar) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and American Dylan Smith (196-1997, college: Arizona) accounted for 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach John Welch allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Jermont Horton (198-1984, college: RU Newark) came up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Marlon Stewart (190-1997, college: N.Dakota) added 15 points respectively for Venados in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ostioneros de Guaymas. They moved-up to fifth place. Venados lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet Tijuana Zonkeys (#6) on the road in the next round. Venados will play against Caballeros de Culiacan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
