The game between Top Four teams took place in Hermosillo. Second ranked host Rayos de Hermosillo (13-7) smashed one of their biggest challengers Pioneros Los Mochis (12-8) 107-83. Rayos de Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Pioneros Los Mochis' players. American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) fired 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The other American import guard Jordan Brangers (188-1995, college: South Plains) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds and American swingman Wayne Runnels (198-1989, college: Creighton) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Rayos de Hermosillo and four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rayos de Hermosillo have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-7 record behind leader Astros. Loser Pioneros Los Mochis keep the third place with eight games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will meet at home Ostioneros de Guaymas (#5) in the next round. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against Caballeros de Culiacan and hope to secure a win.
