Regular Season Round 1: Arabe de Valp. - Manquehue 66-80

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Arabe de Valp. in Valparaiso on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Manquehue 80-66. Manquehue had a 39-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international Fernando Schuler (190-1991) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and Mauricio Serrano (-2001) chipped in 13 points and 18 rebounds. Four Manquehue players scored in double figures. At the losing side Brazilian Pedro Soares (200-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Cristian Carrillo (-1997) scored 15 points and 5 steals. Arabe de Valp.'s coach Claudio Quezada rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Manquehue is looking forward to face Sportiva Italiana in Valparaiso in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Arabe de Valp. will play at home against Stadio Italiano and is hoping to win this game.
