Very predictable result when top-ranked Mieleras (18-0) rolled over 8th ranked Mexcaltecas (6-11) in Tepic 101-55 on Sunday. Mieleras dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Mexcaltecas' 26. They outrebounded Mexcaltecas 35-16 including a 26-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Gemma Munoz who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Destiny Campbell (185, college: ECU) supported her with 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Mieleras players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by Sofia Payan (167-2000) did not help to save the game for Mexcaltecas. The former international guard Romina Berumen (177-1987) added 11 points for the hosts. Mieleras have an impressive 18-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-0 record. Mexcaltecas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost.
