The most surprising game was the first loss of Sesi/Arara. (10-1) on the court of fifth ranked Vera Cruz on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Vera Cruz 68-53. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Sesi/Arara.. Vera Cruz forced 20 Sesi/Arara. turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Tassia Carcavalli (176-1992) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Licinara Rodrigues (184-1999) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Nany Carvalho (188-1997, college: Kansas) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Maila Ciciardi (168-1993) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Vera Cruz have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Sesi/Arara. at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Vera Cruz are looking forward to face Catanduva (#9) in Caranduva in the next round where they are favorite. Sesi/Arara. will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sampaio (#2) in Sampaio Basquete and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
