Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (12-10) beat at home 6th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (10-12) 97-80 on Wednesday. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Jarvis Summers (190-1993, college: Ole Miss, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import center Deion McClenton (208, college: Keiser) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. American guard Josh Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Fabian Jaimes (198-1992) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon maintains fourth place with 12-10 record. Loser Tijuana Zonkeys keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will meet at home bottom-ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (#8) in the next round. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Rayos de Hermosillo and hope to secure a win.
