Regular Season Round 5: Libertadores - Plateras 85-73

An interesting game for Libertadores (4-2) which hosted in Queretaro their close opponent Plateras (1-5). Third ranked Libertadores managed to get a 12-point victory 85-73. Libertadores made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Libertadores outrebounded Plateras 37-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Lyndra Littles Weaver (185-1987, college: Virginia) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and swingman Robyn Parks (185-1992, college: VCU) chipped in 27 points and 10 rebounds. Center Khadija Brown (190, college: UAPB) responded with 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and forward Kamilah Jackson (183-1992, college: Hawaii) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Libertadores moved-up to second place, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Plateras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with five games lost. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Plateras will play on the road against the league's second-placed Fuerza Regia in Monterrey and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
