Regular Season Round 10: Cafeteros - Corsarios 81-73

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Corsarios (4-7) lost to third ranked Cafeteros (7-4) in Armenia 73-81. American Jaelyn Johnson-Coston (198-1993, college: FMU) scored 25 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Alvaro Pena (197-1995, agency: BIG) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Cafeteros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Venezuelan Nelson Palacios (192-1992) responded with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Jhon Hernandez (208-1984) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Corsarios players scored in double figures. Cafeteros maintains third position with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Titanes. Corsarios at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Cafeteros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Corsarios will play at home against Team Cali (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
