Rather predictable result when third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (15-9) won against on the road 5th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (11-13) 97-87 on Wednesday. Rayos de Hermosillo made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 43-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St., agency: Network Sports International) who scored that evening 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Terrence Drisdom (196-1992, college: CPP) supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 25 points and 5 assists by American guard Josh Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) did not help to save the game for Tijuana Zonkeys. The former international Fabian Jaimes (198-1992) added 19 points and 9 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Los Mochis. Loser Tijuana Zonkeys keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Guaymas. Rayos de Hermosillo will meet at home Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (#4) in the next round. Tijuana Zonkeys will play against Venados in Mazatlan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
