Regular Season Round 7: Libertadores - Panteras 84-78

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Queretaro. First ranked Libertadores faced their biggest opponent Panteras. Host Libertadores (5-3) defeated guests from Aguascalientes (6-3) 84-78. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Libertadores made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Panteras turnovers. It was a great evening for American power forward Lyndra Littles Weaver (185-1987, college: Virginia) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import swingman Robyn Parks (185-1992, college: VCU) helped adding 30 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). At the losing side American forward Samantha Fuehring (190-1997, college: Louisville) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian guard Ilze Jakobsone (168-1994) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Panteras' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Libertadores. Despite that victory Libertadores went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Panteras still keep top place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
