We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (14-14) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (14-14) 90-85 on Wednesday. Ostioneros de Guaymas made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Point guard Wes Washpun (185-1993, college: UNI) scored 28 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Dylan Smith (196-1997, college: Arizona) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Jarvis Summers (190-1993, college: Ole Miss, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ostioneros de Guaymas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Obregon. Ostioneros de Guaymas will meet at home bottom-ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (#8) in the next round. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Venados in Mazatlan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
