Regular Season Round 9: Panteras - Halcones 70-90

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Panteras (7-4) in Aguascalientes on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Halcones (4-8) 90-70. American point guard Tiffany Brown (168-1986, college: Georgia South) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and her fellow American import center Elissa Cunane (196-2000, college: NC State) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Angela Rodriguez (173-1991, college: Milwaukee) with 24 points and American forward Samantha Fuehring (190-1997, college: Louisville) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones maintains third place with 4-8 record having just two points less than leader Adelitas. Panteras at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Halcones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panteras will play on the road against Astros in Jalisco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
