Rather predictable result when first ranked Astros (20-10) won against 3rd placed Rayos de Hermosillo (18-12) in Guadalajara 100-92 on Saturday. Astros forced 19 Rayos de Hermosillo turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Javion Blake (190, college: Washburn, agency: Haylett Sports) accounted for 23 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Five Astros players scored in double figures. Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St., agency: Network Sports International) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) added 26 points respectively for Rayos de Hermosillo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Astros maintains first place with 20-10 record. Defending champion Rayos de Hermosillo keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Astros will meet Venados (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Tijuana Zonkeys (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
