Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (19-14) against fifth ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (18-15) on Friday night. Visiting Rayos de Hermosillo was defeated by Ostioneros de Guaymas in a tough game in Guaymas 101-110. Strangely Rayos de Hermosillo outrebounded Ostioneros de Guaymas 47-35 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Rayos de Hermosillo's players. The game was also dominated by American players. Dylan Smith (196-1997, college: Arizona) stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Jalen Tate (198-1998, college: Arkansas) chipped in 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St., agency: Network Sports International) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) scored 24 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ostioneros de Guaymas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 18-15 record. Defending champion Rayos de Hermosillo keeps the third position with 14 games lost.
