Regular Season Round 5: Manquehue - Brisas 69-60

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Manquehue as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Manquehue defeated 13th ranked Brisas in Santiago 69-60. Manquehue had a 39-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Fernando Schuler (190-1991) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Mauricio Serrano (-2001) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Cristobal Ordonez (195-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Venezuelan Cristhian Poleo (-1992) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Manquehue (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Brisas at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with six games lost. Brisas will play next round against Boston College trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago - Boston College. Manquehue will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Luis Matte on the road.
