Regular Season Round 6: Sportiva Italiana - Arabe de Valp. 93-65

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Valparaiso: Sportiva Italiana (#3) and Arabe de Valp. (#5). Sportiva Italiana (6-1) smashed visiting Arabe de Valp. (4-2) by 28 points 93-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Arabe de Valp.. Sportiva Italiana forced 19 Arabe de Valp. turnovers and outrebounded them 49-35 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Gaspar Hernandez (-1999) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Rodrigo Rojas (-1999) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Sportiva Italiana players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alejandro Guevara (-2000) who recorded 20 points and Ricardo Jadue (-1998) added 6 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sportiva Italiana have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Liceo PN. Arabe de Valp. at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. Sportiva Italiana is looking forward to face Brisas (#14) in Santiago in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Arabe de Valp. will play against Luis Matte (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
