An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aguada. First ranked Aguada faced 3rd placed Malvin. Host Aguada (8-1) defeated guests from Montevideo (6-3) 64-60. Strangely Malvin outrebounded Aguada 53-36 including 19 on the offensive glass. Guard Camila Kirschenbaum (170-2002, college: Binghamton) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and Argentinian forward Ana Paz (178-1997) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Florencia Somma (175-1988) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aguada have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Loser Malvin dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Hebraica and Remeros. Aguada will meet D.Sporting (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Yale.
