Regular Season Round 9: Univ. Austral - Lar V. 79-42

Bottom-ranked Lar V. is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Univ. Austral (3-6) 79-42 on Monday evening. Univ. Austral dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Lar V.'s 28. Univ. Austral forced 34 Lar V. turnovers and outrebounded them 53-35 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Lar V.'s players. Nicoll Ojeda (-1993) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Camila Ovando (-2000) accounted for 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Univ. Austral maintains fourth place with 3-6 record, which they share with Leones. Lar V. lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Univ. Austral will meet at home higher ranked Frontera (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
