Very predictable result when U.Atletica edged O.Mundial in Montevideo 52-51 on Tuesday. Strangely O.Mundial outrebounded U.Atletica 58-37 including a 28-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Emiliano Baston (202-1988) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Federico Ambrosoni (183-1999) supported him with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds by Brazilian center Romulo Gusmao (208) did not help to save the game for O.Mundial. Point guard Angel Varela (188-1987) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. O.Mundial's coach Gonzalo Fernandez tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. U.Atletica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo 25 de Agosto.
