The most surprising game was a loss of Capitol (2-1) in Montevideo on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Cordon (2-1) 93-76. It was a great evening for Argentinian center Eduardo Vasirani (206-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Argentinian forward Fabian Ramirez (200-1990) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Cordon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Anthony Danridge (196-1986, college: N.Mexico) with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Cordon's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Miramar.
