The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sportiva Italiana as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sportiva Italiana smashed 3rd placed Manquehue in Valparaiso 87-48. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Manquehue. They outrebounded Manquehue 47-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Manquehue helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago - Stadio Italiano.
