The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked La Salle (6-3) played at the court of 8th ranked UNITEP (2-9). La Salle smashed UNITEP 92-62 on Tuesday. La Salle dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to UNITEP's 28. They outrebounded UNITEP 43-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. La Salle looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Martin Ochoa who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Argentinian Joaquin Gamazo (198-1991) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. Five La Salle players scored in double figures. Argentinian Nicolas Rodriguez produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Esteban Covarrubias (190-2001) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for La Salle. They moved-up to fourth place. UNITEP lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. La Salle will meet at home Atomico (#6) in the next round. UNITEP will play against San Simon and hope to secure a win.
