Regular Season Round 5: Llaneros - Toros 53-50

A very close game took place in Caracas between Llaneros and Toros. Fourth ranked Llaneros (2-3) got a very close home victory over bottom-ranked Toros (0-2). Llaneros managed to escape with a 3-point win 53-50 on Thursday evening. The best player for the winners was American point guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) who scored 17 points. Forward Cristian Centeno (195-1996) chipped in 10 points. Brian Guidi (191-1991) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Edson Tovar (180-2005) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Llaneros moved-up to third place, which they share with Piratas. Loser Toros still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Supersonicos. Llaneros will meet at home league's leader Trotamundos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toros will have a break next round.
