National League top team - Santa Maria (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Guerreros (0-5) 96-74. Santa Maria forced 20 Guerreros turnovers. American forward Jonathan Guzman (201-1998, college: Antelope Valley) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Venezuelan swingman Emilio Cappare (199-1990) supported him with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Santa Maria players scored in double figures. Even 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds by guard Arath Polanco (-2003) did not help to save the game for Guerreros. Forward Enrique Estrella (-1999) added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Santa Maria have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record. Guerreros at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
