There was a minor upset when 5th ranked 25 de Agosto (4-2) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Colon (4-2) 106-99 on Saturday. Colon made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Casey Jones (195-1993, college: Chattanooga) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Argentinian center Cristian Scaramuzzino (206-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Colon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Dennis McKinney (193-1998, college: Mt.Mercy, agency: GoEmpire Group) who recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and forward Rodrigo Brause (194) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Colon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated 25 de Agosto. Colon will meet Miramar (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. 25 de Agosto's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Lagomar.
