Regular Season Round 9: Broncos - Llaneros 90-65

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Broncos (#2) and Llaneros (#3). Broncos (5-2) crushed visiting Llaneros (3-5) by 25 points 90-65. Strangely Llaneros outrebounded Broncos 34-19 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Broncos players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. International point guard Garly Sojo (196-1999, agency: Pro Sports) nailed 19 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and the former international point guard Leonardo Palacios (186-1994) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists. Four Broncos players scored in double figures. Center Johandryt Mendoza (201-1998) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Brazilian center Andre Coimbra (205-1986, college: CMU) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Llaneros in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Broncos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-2 record having just four point less than leader Centauros, which they share with Guaiqueries. Llaneros at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Broncos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Llaneros will play at home against the league's leader Centauros (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
