Regular Season Round 1: Libertadores - Fuerza Regia 80-93

There was a minor upset in Queretaro where Libertadores were defeated by Fuerza Regia 93-80 on Friday. Fuerza Regia looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-1991, college: Siena) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Daniel Bejarano (193-1991, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Fuerza Regia's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Spencer Williams (188-1995, college: Wooster) responded with 20 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward Samuel Givens (197-1989, college: Drexel) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Libertadores players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Halcones UV Xalapa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Libertadores will play against Abejas in Guanajuato and hope to win that game.
