The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Cangrejeros' (2-6) road loss to fourth ranked Spartans (2-4) 87-97 on Saturday. Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Windi Graterol (204-1986, agency: Pro Sports) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. International guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Eric Frederick (203-1989, college: TxWes) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Lysander Bracey (193-1996, college: Hampton) added 21 points respectively. Five Spartans and four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartans moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaros. Loser Cangrejeros dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Spartans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cangrejeros will play against Taurinos (#4) in La Asuncion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
