Regular Season Round 1: Astros - Correcaminos 99-53

Not a big story in a game in Guadalajara where Correcaminos were outplayed by Astros 99-53 on Sunday. Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 30. They outrebounded Correcaminos 45-28 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Correcaminos' players. American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-1993, college: Utah) stepped up and scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Brooks DeBisschop (206-1998, college: NAU) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Astros players scored in double figures. At the losing side Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) responded with 18 points and Venezuelan center Carlos Rodriguez (206-1989) scored 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astros will meet Dorados in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Correcaminos will play against Mineros in Zacatecas and hope to win that game.
