Regular Season Round 11: Llaneros - Guaros 73-60

There was no surprise in Caracas where 5th ranked Guaros (2-5) were defeated by third ranked Llaneros (4-5) 73-60 on Monday. Llaneros made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for international point guard Arian Amundaray (192-2000) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points. American point guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) helped adding 12 points and 4 assists. Cuban power forward Marlon Diaz (200-1998) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Cuban swingman Neysser Coutin (192-1996) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Llaneros maintains third place with 4-5 record having just five point less than leader Centauros which they share with defeated Guaros. Loser Guaros dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Spartans. Llaneros will meet Toros (#5) in the next round. Guaros will have a break next round.
