Regular Season Round 6: Sao Jose - Pato 98-36
Date: July 27, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Pato (1-3) was outscored on the road by fifth ranked Sao Jose (3-1) 98-36 on Wednesday. Sao Jose held Pato to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Sao Jose forced 22 Pato turnovers and outrebounded them 51-29 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Pato's players. Forward Marcos Vinicius (196-2002) notched 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and forward Vitor Narcizio (193-2002) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. Even 4 points and 10 rebounds by Afonso Campos (203-2004) did not help to save the game for Pato. Guard Caio Rocha (190-2004) added 6 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sao Jose moved-up to third place, which they share with Flamengo. Pato lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Campo Mourao. Sao Jose will meet at home Mogi (#7) in the next round. Pato will play against Sao Paulo and hope to win that game.
