Regular Season Round 6: Minas - Brasilia 98-57

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Minas (2-2) rolled over bottom-ranked Brasilia (0-4) in Belo Horizonte 98-57 on Wednesday. Minas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Brasilia's 34. Minas forced 20 Brasilia turnovers and outrebounded them 46-27 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Minas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Brasilia's players. Forward Winicius Braga (205-2005) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Aieser Batista (198-2000) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by forward Carlos Silva (196-2003) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. Guard Gustavo Silva (187-2002) added 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Minas went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Sao Paulo and Mogi. Loser Brasilia still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with UniFacisa. Minas will meet league's second-placed Praia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brasilia will play against Campo Mourao (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
