Regular Season Round 16: La Salle - Tenis 125-69

Bottom-ranked Tenis is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 14th consecutive match to sixth ranked La Salle (7-6) 125-69 on Saturday evening. La Salle dominated down low during the game scoring 98 of its points in the paint compared to Tenis' 42. La Salle forced 24 Tenis turnovers and outrebounded them 52-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Tenis' players. The winners were led by Argentinian Joaquin Gamazo (198-1991) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points, 25 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and American forward Antonio Bivins (198-1992, college: UMass Lowell) supported him with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 16-of-17 shooting from the field). Four La Salle players scored in double figures. La Salle's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points by Martin Rios did not help to save the game for Tenis. Facundo Moran added 13 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. La Salle maintains sixth position with 7-6 record. Loser Tenis still closes the standings with 14 games lost. La Salle will meet league's leader Pichincha on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tenis will play against UNITEP (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
