Not a big story in a game in La Asuncion where 3rd placed Llaneros (4-7) were defeated by leader Trotamundos (9-0) 78-72 on Sunday. Trotamundos outrebounded Llaneros 47-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard David Cubillan (181-1987, college: Marquette) who scored 25 points and 7 assists. International center Nestor Colmenares (200-1987, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Trotamundos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) who recorded 25 points and 6 assists and Argentinian guard Sebastian Mignani (185-1990) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Trotamundos have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-0 record. Loser Llaneros dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Trotamundos will again meet at home Llaneros (#4) in the next round. Llaneros will have a break next round.
