Regular Season Round 16: Spartans - Supersonicos 93-95
Date: August 2, 2022
Important game to mention about took place in Caracas. Third ranked Supersonicos (3-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging their biggest opponent Spartans (3-7) 95-93 in the fight for the second place. Supersonicos outrebounded Spartans 43-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American-Nigerian swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-1994, college: UCF) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Cadarian Raines (205-1990, college: Virginia Tech) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by international guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) did not help to save the game for Spartans. American guard Ramon Galloway (190-1991, college: La Salle) added 14 points for lost side. Five Supersonicos and four Spartans players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Supersonicos moved-up to second place. Spartans at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Supersonicos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spartans will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Supersonicos in Margarita and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
