Regular Season Round 11: Colon - Larranaga 60-46

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Larranaga (7-4) against fifth ranked Colon (8-3) on Friday night. Visiting Larranaga was defeated by Colon in Colon 60-46. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Larranaga. It was a great evening for forward Gianfranco Espindola (196-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Felipe Garcia (173-1999) helped adding 11 points and 4 assists. Four Colon players scored in double figures. Center Agustin Cabillon (198-1995) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Iraqi center Ihab Al-Zuhairi (210-1998) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Colon moved-up to third place, which they share with Capitol. Larranaga at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with U.Atletica and 25 de Agosto. Colon will play against Lagomar (#8) in Montevideo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Larranaga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo O.Mundial.
