We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when top-ranked Trotamundos (11-1) lost to second ranked Broncos (8-4) in Caracas 71-75 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Broncos outrebounded Trotamundos 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Broncos made 7 blocks. American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-1988, college: Troy, agency: BIG) notched 27 points to lead the effort and international point guard Garly Sojo (196-1999, agency: Pro Sports) supported him with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Dwayne Davis (196-1989, college: Southern Miss) did not help to save the game for Trotamundos. International center Nestor Colmenares (200-1987, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) added 9 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Broncos used an opportunity after Centauros lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Trotamundos. Defending champion Trotamundos still keep top place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
