The game between Top Four teams took place in Puerto Ordaz. 3rd placed host Gigantes (5-3) lost to second ranked Spartans (6-7) 79-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gigantes. It was an exceptional evening for international center Windi Graterol (204-1986, agency: Pro Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Ramon Galloway (190-1991, college: La Salle) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Spartans players scored in double figures. American center Jarred Shaw (208-1990, college: Utah St.) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Gigantes in the defeat. Gigantes' coach Manuel Povea rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Spartans. They maintain second place with 6-7 record having just one point less than leader Centauros. Gigantes at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. Spartans will play against Marinos (#4) in Puerto La Cruz in the next round. Gigantes will have a break next round.
