Regular Season Round 12: U.Atletica - Capitol 78-82

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Capitol (#4) and U.Atletica (#6). U.Atletica was defeated at home 78-82 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Capitol made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import Anthony Danridge (196-1986, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 26 points. Four Capitol players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Sebastian Ottonello (200-1997) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Federico Ambrosoni (183-1999) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Capitol (9-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Colon. U.Atletica lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Larranaga and 25 de Agosto. Capitol's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Stockolmo.
