An interesting game for Gigantes (8-3) which hosted in Puerto Ordaz one of their biggest challengers Cangrejeros (3-14). Third ranked Gigantes managed to get a 14-point victory 79-65. Gigantes forced 20 Cangrejeros turnovers. The former international point guard Harold Cazorla (175-1991, agency: Promo Sport ID) scored 14 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American center Jarred Shaw (208-1990, college: Utah St.) chipped in 17 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Eric Frederick (203-1989, college: TxWes) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Lysander Bracey (193-1996, college: Hampton) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gigantes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-3 record behind leader Centauros. Cangrejeros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Gigantes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cangrejeros will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gladiadores (#2) in Caracas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
