Everything went according to plan in Fresnillo where seventh ranked Plateros (4-3) edged 9th ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (1-7) 78-76 on Friday. The former international center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HBU) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international point guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (183-1986, college: WKU, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Plateros' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St.) produced 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Plateros moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams.
