Very important is a home loss of third ranked Soles (4-3) against sixth ranked Libertadores (4-3) on Friday night. Host Soles were defeated by Libertadores in a tough game in Mexicali 78-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Soles. Libertadores made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Soles 45-21 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Branden Frazier (191-1992, college: Fordham, agency: BeoBasket) fired 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners (made all of his eight free throws). Jamaican power forward Samardo Samuels (206-1989, college: Louisville) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). International point guard Moises Andriassi (185-2000) produced 20 points and 5 assists and American forward Dwayne Morgan (202-1996, college: SUU) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Soles players scored in double figures. Soles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Libertadores moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Soles. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Soles will play against Halcones UV Xalapa and hope to secure a win.
