We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when their biggest opponent Broncos (10-5) lost to third ranked Piratas (7-8) in La Guaira 84-92 on Monday. Piratas made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Broncos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-1988, college: GWU) notched 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American Tamyrik Fields (198-1996, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Piratas players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by international point guard Garly Sojo (196-1999, agency: Pro Sports) did not help to save the game for Broncos. American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-1988, college: Troy, agency: BIG) added 17 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Piratas maintains third position with 7-8 record having just one point less than leader Centauros. Broncos at the other side keep the second place with five games lost.
